2. Starting a Game on Mario Kart Wii

This part of the gudie will show you how to start a game on Mario Kart Wii.

1. Once Mario Kart Wii has started up (see guide 1. Starting up Mario Kart Wii) you should see a screen that looks like this:
It may not have Mario on the front (it could also have Luigi, Peach, or Bowser) but they all work the same way. Once you get to this screen, press the A button on your Wii Remote to continue.

2. After that, you should go to a screen like this (You will not yet have any profiles, and the names will not be blurry):

3. Turn your Wii Remote sideways like this and use the arrow buttons to move and press the A button on your Wii Remote to select a profile:
4. Select your Mii Character to represent your Mario Kart Wii Game Slot. This character will appear in Grand Prix mode, Time Trials, Online Play, and The Mario Kart Channel. You will even be able to race as them after you have unlocked your Mii Character.

5. You have now started your own game on Mario Kart Wii!
