1. Starting Up Mario Kart Wii

Ok, so you've just bought Mario Kart Wii from the store. You don't know how to set it up. This is the guide for setting up the game Mario Kart Wii.

First of all, you will need the following:

A Nintendo Wii gaming system (about $149.99) set up to a tv with a working sensor bar (included with Wii).

One wireless Wii Remote controller with 2 AA batteries. Many new Wiis come with one, but if yours didn't, they can be purchased at most stores for around $40.

Mario Kart Wii (many new Wiis come with this game).

Here is how to set it up:

1. Turn your tv on Video mode or whichever mode the Wii will run on.

2. Turn on the Nintendo Wii by pressing the top button on the Wii or on the Wii remote controller.

3. First, you will be taken to a warning screen for those with seizures. Read it carfully and then press the A button on your Wii Remote.

4. You will be taken to the Wii Menu. You can access this screen at any time during a game (excluding online play) by pressing the Home button on your Wii Remote.

5. Make sure that there is no game in the Nintendo Wii game slot, and then insert the disc for Mario Kart Wii that can be found in the game box.

6. Move your Wii Remote so it shows a hand on the screen. Move this hand over to the box on the upper-left of your screen and then press the A button on your Wii Remote.

7. Wait until you see a screen that looks like this:
Move your Wii Remote so that the hand is on the Start button on the screen, and then press the A button on your Wii Remote.

Congratulations! You have started up Mario Kart Wii and are ready to start racing!
