3. How to Play Mario Kart Wii

Here is how to play Mario Kart Wii using the Wii Wheel: (for information on how to use other controllers, please refer to the Mario Kart Wii instructions included in the box)

1. Power Button: This button turns you Wii on and off.

2. Control Pad: Used to select things in menus, can send out any items you have in stock during a race.

3. A button: Used for selecting things on a menu and can be used to see behind you in a race.

4. + button: Used for pausing during a race. When a race is paused, it will open up a menu that can allow you to go back to the Main Menu. If you go back to the Main Menu during a race, then you will lose all of your progress in that race. This button cannot be used during online play.

5. Home Menu button: Opens up the Home Menu. This button cannot be used during online play.

6. - button: No major purpose in Mario Kart Wii.

7. 1 button: Used for braking, backing up, or drifting (when manual is on) during a race. When on a menu, you can use this button to go back to the previous screen.

8. 2 button: Used for moving forward in a race. When on a menu, it serves the same purpose as the A button.

9. B button: This button can be used to send out items in automatic mode. In manual mode, it is used for drifting.

Other: To steer your vehicle while driving, tilt the Wii Remote to the left to turn left, and turn it to the right to turn right.

Common Problems:

Q: Why can't I select anything on the Main Menu?

A: Try putting new batteries in your Wii Remote. Make sure that Mario Kart Wii was not taken out of the game slot.

Q: Why did my car smoke and stall at the staring line?

A: Revving you engine at the wrong time may do this. To properly rev your engine, press and hold the 2 button when the number 1 comes onto the screen.

Q: Why didn't Mario Kart Wii load at the Wii Menu?

A: The disc may be dusty. If this is so, take the disc out and lightly blow on it before re-inserting it. If you are continually having problems with the disc, I would recommend taking it back to the store that you bought it from and getting a new disc.

More coming soon!
